Biography

Professor Kaili Beck grew up in a mining family in Sudbury, Ontario. During her undergraduate studies at Laurentian University, she began to take an interest in labour. After her undergrad, she moved on to MacMaster University to take their Work and Society degree. Kaili worked on a number of projects after returning to Sudbury including a conference called "Sociology for Changing the World" with Dr. Gary Kinsman and a membership survey for Mine Mill/CAW 598. She has also been very involved in volunteering in the arts community.
