Health Care Systems

This course examines the organization and operations of the health system in Canada. The historical conceptualizations of the provider/client are compared to the more recent concept of an integrated client-centred continuum. The roles of government and the health professionals in shaping the current system are examined, and provincial variations in the organization, funding and provision of health services are identified. PREREQ: Successful completion of all Year 2 winter term courses in the joint Michener-Laurentian Radiation Therapy Program. Successful completion with a minimum of 60% (C) in PHYS3506, PHYS3306 and PHYS3507. The course is only available to students enrolled in the joint Michener/Laurentian Radiation Therapy program.
